Mechanical and Electrical Estimator

Salary: £ – dependant on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week, 8am – 5pm

ASH integrated services are currently seeking a M&E estimator to join an award-winning company based in the wigan area.

It is essential that the applicant has experience in the mechanical & Electrical sector with preferably min 5 years’ experience in estimation.

As an estimator your duties will be:

· Analysing drawings to produce costs and additional costs

· Produce net cost tender document for the relevant project

· Attend client meetings to discuss tender

· Visit site to carryout surveys for relevant tender process

· Discuss with clients or employer agent where necessary on tender issues and queries

· Discuss with subcontractor’s work involved on proposed projects

· Compile tender information to subcontractors when required.

· Provide input on successful tenders when required

· Arrange handover of all relevant documentation for successful tender

· Provide comparison schedules of subcontractors and supplier costs

· Calculation of prices using Estimating software package

· Compile estimates including monitoring prices to identify compliant and non-compliant prices and source additional/ alternative prices

· Provide tracking correspondence for pricing enquiries

Skills & Experience:

· Be able to interact closely with other members of bid team and other disciplines

· Be flexible to cope with fluctuating workload and client deadlines

· Possess excellent communication and presentation skills

· Be able to review and understand engineering specifications, work scopes and drawings

· Experience within a construction or M&E estimating or design role.

· Good numeracy skills.

· Good IT skills – proficient in Microsoft products especially Excel and Word. Experience using CAD (Autodesk) would be beneficial.

· Understanding of the wider construction industry would be advantageous especially requirements under CDM2015
