Main Purpose of the Role
To work on job-specific seating and event facility CAD models, assemblies, layouts, and site GA’s from the initial feasibility study to the final fabrication/construction issue using both AutoCAD and Inventor.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
* 3D & 2D Modelling: Create, develop, and refine 2D/3D CAD models, layouts, and assemblies using AutoCAD and Inventor to meet project specifications, industry standards, and relevant guidelines, including sightline studies.
* Visualisation: Generate and enhance 3D visuals to support project presentations and design reviews.
* Fabrication Drawings: Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for steel, aluminium, plywood, and GRP, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
* Project Management & Coordination
* Design File Management: Ensure all design files and project documentation are systematically stored, organised, and managed in accordance with company protocols.
* Bill of Materials (BOM): Create, revise, and manage project-specific bills of materials, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date throughout the project lifecycle.
* Site Surveys & Client Interaction: Conduct site surveys and liaise with clients to gather essential data for design and project execution. This includes visiting client sites as needed.
Collaboration & Communication
* Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as Projects, Operations, and Procurement to ensure design requirements are fully understood and integrated into project plans.
* External Liaison: Coordinate with external stakeholders, including civil engineers and architects, to develop comprehensive engineering and architectural layouts.
Process Improvement & Standardisation
* Library Maintenance: Maintain, update, and improve the library of standard parts, bespoke parts, and large assemblies in both 2D and 3D formats.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance design processes and contribute to the development of best practices within the team.
Quality Control & Compliance
* Revision & Checking: Review, revise, and check models, layouts, and drawings to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all design activities comply with health and safety regulations, and actively promote safe work practices across all projects.

Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Perform any other reasonable duties as required, which are within your capabilities, to support the smooth running of projects and the overall business.

Knowledge Required
* A background in architectural metalwork, staircase design & construction, or an understanding of engineering & construction principles, particularly in steelwork fabrication and relevant regulations.
* Basic understanding of building regulations, stadia-related regulations, and temporary/modular structures (preferable).
* Familiarity with steel, aluminium assemblies, welding, CNC machining, and material protection methods (e.g., galvanising, anodising, powder coating).
Skills & Qualifications
* Advanced knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD in 2D & 3D with at least 3 years of experience.
* Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Inventor with at least 2 years of experience.
* Good spatial perception & reasoning – ability to think in a three-dimensional manner.
* Basic knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks (preferable).
* Proficiency in the MS Office package.
* Professional qualifications in Civil/Structural/Building/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture to a minimum of HNC/HND are desirable.

Other Information
A full, clean driving licence is required. This role may involve some travel to site (UK and International) therefore passport and ability to travel is required
