Genomics England partners with the NHS to provide whole genome sequencing diagnostics. We also equip researchers to find the causes of disease and develop new treatments – with patients and participants at the heart of it all.

Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to steer our Learning and Development (L&D) programmes, working closely with our key stakeholders, programme participants, and the wider People team. The role will also engage with third-party suppliers and vendors to achieve successful outcomes.
This role is accountable for delivery which may include the planning, scoping, resourcing, reporting and budgeting of the programmes, executing consistently to a high quality and aligning with programme deliverables.

Job Description
* Manage and deliver end-to-end learning and development programmes, including pre- and post-programme activities.
* Design and procure bespoke L&D solutions for teams and leadership programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational needs.
* Coordinate and administer L&D events within and outside the Learning Management System (LMS).
* Facilitate welcome week-style training
* Oversee budgets, procurement, and contracts for external providers, ensuring compliance and good governance.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), to manage participant lists and prioritisation.
* Report on L&D performance, metrics, and provider effectiveness, using data to support decision-making.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and embody our organisational virtues and leadership behaviours.
Qualifications
While we recognise the value of relevant qualifications or certifications, we are primarily interested in your real-world experience.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Demonstrated success in managing and delivering multiple concurrent Learning & Development programs.
* Strong project management skills, including managing budgets, procurement, and external provider contracts.
* Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and experience in setting up and managing L&D events.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to design bespoke learning solutions and assessments using authoring tools.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
Desirable skills:
* Experience in facilitation and coaching is highly valued

Genomics England operates a blended working model as we know our people appreciate the flexibility. We expect most people to come into the office 2 times each month as a minimum. However, this will vary according to role and will be agreed with your team leader. There is no expectation that staff will return to the office full time unless they want to, however, some of our roles require you to be on site full time e.g., lab teams, reception team.
Our teams and squads have, and will continue to, reflect on what works best for them to work together successfully and have the freedom to design working patterns to suit, beyond the minimum. Our office locations are Canary Wharf, Cambridge and Leeds.
