We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and caring Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our dedicated early years team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified practitioner who is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and education while supporting the Room Lead in the day-to-day running of the room.
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive. They will support the Room Lead in maintaining high standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Room Lead in the daily organisation and management of the nursery room.
* Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Act as a key person, building strong relationships with children and their families.
* Observe, assess, and record children's development and progress.
* Assist with planning and implementing engaging activities that support children's individual learning needs.
* Support and mentor junior practitioners, apprentices, and students.
* Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are consistently followed.
* Promote positive behaviour and inclusive practice throughout the setting.
* Contribute to maintaining a welcoming, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, colleagues, and external professionals.
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (or equivalent).
* Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting. (Ideally 5+ years)
* Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
* Ability to work proactively and support room leadership responsibilities when required.
Desirable
* Experience supporting room management or leading a team.
* Paediatric First Aid qualification.
* Additional training in safeguarding, SEND, or behaviour management.
